On May 5th 2010 the Rastafarian Organization " Theocracy Reign Ancient Order of Melchizedek - House of David" held a gathering in Dieppe Bay, St. Kitts to commemorate the 114th Anniversary of the "Battle of Adowa". Italy had set its sights on conquering Ethiopia and launched an attack near the town of Adwa in Tigray, but realized defeat on March 1st 1896 under the command of Ras Makonnen and the Ethiopian Army. Italy, then signed The Treaty of Addis Ababa, which recognized Ethiopia as an Independent state.
