“Masta P’s” Vision is to bring all the artistes and musicians in St. Kitts-Nevis Together, in order to create a National Music Identity.
Twenty-Five Year Veteran DJ and Sound Man “Masta P” a.k.a “Creation” has traveled across the waters from his U.K. base and returned to his Kittitian-Nevisian Rootz to put a different Spin on Reggae Music and send on conscious Vibezzzz to the Massive.
His Love for music was born at a very early age when his Mother Rhoda, who herself had a passion for music, had him as her personal selector playing Calypso and Rub-a-Dub for her own house parties.
His journey into live sessions started in 1985 when he chat lyrics for a Sound System in Birmingham named “Hi-tech” under the alias “Young Love”. Then, he jumped on another sound named “Sovereign City” and chat lyrics for both until 1990. His fast chatting skills gained him notoriety as an entertainer and lead him to the Sound “Classic Groove”, where he remained for three years (1990-1993) gaining Nuff experience playing the Birmingham circuit; Frontline, FCF, 104, Porsche Club, The Malt Shovel, The Irish Centre . “Bigger Don” a member of “Classic Groove”, was also a Radio DJ on “Metro FM” station and used to link “Masta P” to represent at some of his events.
Next, “Masta P” and his cousin Levi Teacher created a Sound named “Love Expression” branded for the female crowds that they attracted with their R & B and Rub-a-Dub tunes. At this time Dub Plates were the new lick, which lead him to write lyrics stay competitive when clashing against other Sounds. After juggling two sounds for a while he decided to go it alone and started “Creation Family” Sound in 1998 cutting his own dub plates co-opting support from British Artists; Asha Barns, Chrissy May, Sugar Black, Peter Spence, Peter Culture, Vivian Jones and Steel Pulse and many more. In 2000 “Soldier” the best Reggae and Bashment DJ and “Danger” the best R&B and Soul DJ joined “Creation Family” and took it to another level. The Sound played all over Birmingham, London and also traveled to Europe to spin tunes.
In 2001 he brought his unique style of spinning tunes to the Caribbean playing popular St. Kitts Venues; Rainbow, Ziggy’s, Club Kactus, Island Rhythms, Sugars, Barry’s Bar and the St. Kitts Marriott. Now, you can hear “Masta P” jamming conscious tunes at Sugar City Roc 90.3 on his show “BACK TO BASICS”. More about Creation check the following link www.myspace.com/creationfamilyinternational
